Families Advancing Music Education - Upper Perk Alumni Band

Alumni Band

NEWS !

The UPHS Alumni Band will be in the stands and on the field after the game (playing Joshua, of course) along with the UPHS Marching Band at the Upper Perk Homecoming Game on October 10, 2014. All band alumni are welcome and encouraged to join in (contact Ms. Nalepa for details and sheet music).

If anyone has any extra instruments that they would be willing to loan or donate to the Alumni Band, please Heather (Gendall) Schantz via email kixx6@hotmail.com.

The Upper Perkiomen Alumni Band was officially established in the spring of 2009. Our annual performance is as an exhibition band in the Upper Perk Festival of Bands. In the fall of 2009 we also attended an alumni night at a football game at the high school where the alumni received the stand tunes before the game and had fun playing along side the students. The UP Alumni Band plans to continue to be a part of the music programs in the community through the Festival of Bands, alumni nights, and the Christmas Parade, as well as parades in neighboring communities. Next year in March 2011we will have our first banquet at the East Greenville fire hall.

We encourage anyone who is an alumnus of Upper Perk who played or twirled in the band to join us no matter when you graduated. It’s a lot of fun to reminisce and a perfect excuse to dust off your instrument or band front equipment and use it again. Our meetings are monthly in the high school band room, the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00. If you are interested in joining please contact Heather (Gendall) Schantz via email kixx6@hotmail.com, or phone 215-679-3846. We hope to see you soon!
